Well except for the quilting part and how important is that in the stream of world events?
I added the 3 part border to bring it up to 98" x 98". First I was going to do a piano key border, but it was just to dark, so I cut the keys into brick shaped four patches, which was better but it looked like an afterthought.
So I added a 3" sleeve to the edges, free hand cut the curves, turned it under and used my machine to sitch it down. I like how it came out even though it went against my 'even' mentality.
I can live with it! And I learned a lot as I said in the post below.
Next up? Machine quilt Tsumani, a mystery from a couple of year ago, shown below. I have a lovely King Tut spool in variegated oranges/yellows/pinks.
Thank you all for joining in on whatever journey Bonnie sends us on, and enormous thanks to Bonnie for her gift of so much time and effort to share with us each year. See you all this fall!
Bright and pretty. The borders are a nice addition. Still working on my last steps.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Sharyn! I like what you did with the border -- it just looks like something you would do. My ES is still just lots of pieces, but it's next on the list to complete when I get back home from vacation (didn't bring my machine this time so I would be forced to finish bindings on 3 other quilts ). ReplyDeleteSharyn, I love your quilt! I am also using an abundance of yellow but with blue and red. I am using black on white. Your colourway has prompted me to carry on with mine. I was thinking of maybe trying the layout for 34th Street but after seeing yours, I'm going to stay the course with Bonnie's original layout. I absolutely love your border! Nicely done. How are you going to quilt it?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on getting Easy Street to the flimsy stage! I like the scalloped border.

ReplyDeleteYour colors and borders are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning and you really made it yours.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt - I'm a fan of earth tones and yours is just gorgeous!
