Easy Street Reveal and Coming Together

Well, the big reveal has come and gone and now we plug along on assembling our quilt top and do some Monday morning quarterbacking. I knew early on my constant didn't stand out enough from the background, but I can live with it.

I made a few changes from the original; I pieced the centers of the blocks, I redid the fat turkey blocks to make the star effect stand out more, and I changed the orientation of the border fat turkeys.

Here is the Monday Linky to many other mystery maker blogs

The big blocks look like turtles to me, I like that effect. Although the lower right turtle has swallowed his tail...and there is a four patch that has to be taken out and turned too. I have the distinct feeling there will a number of those 'how did I miss that mistake' moments.

We have a pretty new logo for the side bar in Bonnie's chosen colorway.

  1. I like your idea to change the sitting turkey blocks to make that star stand out a bit more. I may just copy you since I am only on Step 2 so far. Your colors look so great. I can't wait to see the entire top.

  3. Good move on those star points! If mine weren't already together, I think I would do the same. Love how your colorway turned out too!

  4. Thanks for stopping by ladies,
I used my already finished fat turkeys, just used a 2.5" square folded over, same as the first ones were made. Once stitched I just whacked off the old one at the seam line. It was really very quick and easy. If my rust and greens hadn't blended together so poorly I wouldn't have done it.
